As you venture deeper into Izumigaya, a picturesque landscape unfolds—lush forests, bamboo groves, and an elegant Japanese estate. Welcome to Taigetsuro, a distinguished ryotei founded in 1919, boasting a stunning Japanese garden and traditional tearoom, inviting you into a world of refined hospitality. Named after the Taigetsu tearoom in the neighboring Togeppo Saioku-ji Temple, it remains a cherished destination for tea gatherings and cultural experiences.
*We invite our guests to savor kaiseki cuisine while enjoying the tranquil beauty of the garden. To preserve this experience, access is reserved for dining guests only.

Over a century of tradition + a feast for the senses = kaiseki dining at its finest.
Savor a thoughtfully crafted kaiseki meal in a tranquil Japanese setting, overlooking a seasonal garden. Rooted in the traditions of the tea ceremony, kaiseki cuisine highlights the delicate balance of flavor, texture, and presentation. Here, it features tororo-jiru, a local specialty made from grated Japanese yam, alongside the freshest seafood from Suruga Bay and locally sourced ingredients for a truly authentic dining experience.

Inside this beautifully crafted building, traditional furniture, photographs, and exhibits tell the story of its rich history. Among them, rare photos of early 20th-century buses that ran through the area offer a fascinating glimpse into the landscapes and daily life of old Japan.
